I used to love this song!

Super cheesy mid-90s Smash Mouth covering "Why Can't We Be Friends?" with cute cute cute animals! The horns are pretty rad. I used to dance like a fucker to this song.

Clever use of youtube to get an idea across

Similar to the rising water levels billboard from a few years ago, in that it's using something "natural" in a clever and successful way. It's interesting how people are able to capitalize on things we take for granted in order to get their point across. definitely good for the "ah ha" factor.

This video has been made for Oxfam GB as part of the YouTube Cannes Young Lions Ad Contest.

Really cool! Fold-art

Way better than the stuff I've created with Word Art. This is artwork created by folding a piece of paper. To be honest, i've never even considered doing this...and when you realize that i had thought of making art out of sheeps with LEDs on their back, that's pretty impressive.

This is a German artist named Simon Schubert who folds a piece of paper into this stuff. Apparently it takes about a week to do and sells for up to $6,000! Wicked. And his supplies are fuckin cheap too...almost pure profit! Brilliant.

He sure does love staircases...

Sweet slo-mo shit!

I've got a real affinity for slow motion stuff. I guess cause it lets you really see the details of what you would otherwise consider mundane and ordinary. When you slow things down, even something like popping a water balloon is beautiful. I'd love to use some slow motion stuff in a new project.

Super cuuuutteeee: whack-a-kitteh

I've always had a love of the Whack-a-Mole games and this is just as good, a little less violent, but cuuuuuuuttteee.

I saw the short upon which this was based. It was beautiful and cute and pretty epic, even for a short film...this looks like it'll be just amazing.

Continuing the jet pack theme...

...here's a guy actually really f-ing moving with a jet pack. Pretty rad. This shit could actually be our future. I would LOVE to be alive when jet packs become a reality. Of course, that'd likely be the last thing i did, so it's a bit of an ironic wish. But hey, might as well go out with a bang...

Wow...probably the best video trailer i've ever seen.

This is easily the weirdest video game trailer i've ever seen. There's just so much to say about it. Scantily clad body builders running through buildings in hot little speedos to cheers of "Nice Muscle" while they're bulging little butts wiggle like the tail feathers of baby penguins...wild. The mechanics look like that of the human tetris that was popular a year or so ago (made ever-more popular with the inclusion of women in bikinis (that's how north america does it)) - you've got to move the wiimote and nunchuck to match that of the football player that you're chasing as you run through the walls. I mean really, it's as natural an idea as Mario was...i can't see why they didn't think up this little beaut years ago.

OMGOMG...The Road trailer

This book is one of my favourite books ever! It's by Cormac McCarthy, author of No Country for Old Men and it is heavy. It looks like the movie focuses more on the evil people rather than the ravaged landscapes and the fight against time and starvation. Looks awesome though. And I love Viggo Mortensen.

Sherlock Holmes Trailer...

...looks pretty good. You know, i really enjoy RDJr. He was great in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and obviously Ironman...and Tropic Thunder. He's doing a good job of coming back from the bring of prostitute and drug-laden obscurity.

Sweet combo - skateboarding, explosions, slow mo!

This video combines all the shit i love. Well, not ALL, but a lot of it. It's pretty beautiful too.

Ah, fat cat fail...

...i'd say it was a valiant attempt, but i'd be lying.

Like Christian the Lion, but sadder...

...much sadder. I gotta say, if i knew what the animals were saying in zoos, i'd go even less than i do now...which is never. Hate zoos.

Andy Samberg & Will Arnett square off

This is pretty funny, actually. Comedically speaking, will arnett would destroy andy samburg and david haider (spelling?).

The future is here...later this year.

This is a sweet invention, but you'd hope they'd make it a little smaller...i guess that's something to look forward to.

For $100,000, you can buy this amazing hover-pack...i'd like to do more than hover with it though, if you know what i mean ;) ... which of course is that i'd like to fuckin fly. Hovering's for lame-os.

Combining the Oozinator and He-Man...brilliant!

This is a pretty damn funny video. You may recall I posted the Oozinator (Bukkake Blaster) a while ago and some clever bastard combined the awkwardly amazing shots of kids getting "oozed" with he-man "getting the power"...brillz

A study in annoying.

Some people have laughs that are contagious, others have laughs that are infectious...others have laughts that just make you want to die. Here are two.

P.s. i love themed posts.

Worst laugh 1

Worst laugh 2

that last one will really make you want to claw your ears off with a metal rake.

Good video, cool song, sexy ladies.

My only question is why is all the writing backwards?

I do love all the black blocked-out faces of the people watching the girls walking by. This is why i have to live in europe.

"Baby Baby Baby" by Make the Girl Dance

This is pretty impressive - super pole dancer

This is Felix Cane (I think) and she's amazing. I've never seen anything like this before, that's for sure.

Blood: The Last Vampire Trailer

Looks pretty good. It's the adaptation of the anime movie that I also have (of course i do) and it's pretty good. It was a little short, but I think this'll be full length. I'm just excited to see this young woman kicking ass with a huge hammer.

Great song - Whole Wide World

A classic. I was watching Stranger than Fiction this weekend and i realized how much i love this song...that's a great movie too.

The Mother Lovin' sequel to dick in a box

This'll be gone soon, so watch it now!

Players Championship 2009 at TPC Sawgrass

I'm such a nerd for posting this, but i love golf and especially golf highlights. Thank you to Tiger Woods 2005, 2008 and 2009 for instilling in me a love of the game.

Day 1 Highlights:
Can't f-ing find it.

Day 2 Highlights:

Day 3 Highlights:

Day 4 Highlights:
F-ing PGA is super slow in uploading, but it'll come.

Okay Trailer, thought provoking concept...

...sort of. I'm being a little sarcastic, but as we enter what is expected to be the BEST year for video games EVER (when to they not say that), it's interesting to see a film trying to predict what kind of entertainment, video game in this instance, we'll be enjoying in the future. I don't agree with these dystopic visions of the future, where convicts will be forced to compete for their lives, while the masses watch with some unexplained desensitized blood-lust. Movies like Running Man, Death Race, The Condemned and, not about convicts but about school children, Battle Royale. By the way, if you haven't seen Battle Royale, you must. So good. Anyway, the list goes on, those are just a few of them, but here's a trailer for the latest idea. I just don't see humans being so cavalier, but you never know...that's the beauty of the future.

"This Ain't Star Trek XXX" Trailer

Fuck, i've been talking about how i'm gonna have a huge "nerd-gasm" when i watch the new star trek, and now i discover something that gives the term a whole new meaning! Hustler's creating a wicked star trek porn! Here's the trailer.

Cuuutteeee. Suuppeerrr Cuuuutttteeee.

Dose of cuteness coming up.

Hamster falling asleep (on his MASSIVE balls).

The next BMW Checkmate!

Not from BMW....this is from that crafty El Pollo Loco...

For those of you who haven't seen the BMW Checkmate billboard, it's below. Apparently they put it up extremely quickly when they saw the Audi billboard - it's amazing to see such efficiencies in the advertising industry. Brilliant bit of reactive advertising and it's flown around the internet lately.

And now El Pollo Loco has done something similar...but this is more of a smear campaign. It's pretty smart, if you don't mind a little mud slinging.

The latest in Ray-Ban's damned Never Hide campaign

I say that with frustration because I actually really like it. The whole campaign's done a really good job and I love the ideas, the execution and the sheer brilliance of the "virality" if you will.

It's done by "Never Hide Films" and you can check out the youtube page here.

This is one of the first of the Never Hide campaign...fuckin nasty.

Here's an interesting breakdown of the good and the bad things about these viral campaigns. The learnings are actually pretty applicable.

The Good:

-Unique and interesting videos draw in a large and varied audience.
-Success from one video transfers to the next through built-in tools that YouTube provides.
-Tapping into an existing meme ensures that the videos become part of an established group of popular content.
-Shock-and-awe approach helps the videos stand out from the crowd.
-Willingness to take a risk results in some videos that aren’t successful, but larger successes when a video does resonate well within the YouTube community.

The Bad:

-Never Hide Films created their own Digg account to promote the films through that channel, but did not put enough time or effort into that account to make the submissions a success, resulting in a missed opportunity for additional views.
-The videos are buried inside of Ray-Bans’ Flash website rather than being featured on their own URL, eliminating any social networking or social bookmarking potential.
-Branding is too subtle and often goes unnoticed, as the videos could have featured a post-roll ad without a huge loss in authenticity once the initial ‘real or fake’ debates ended.
-Low quality videos make it difficult to see many of the effects clearly.

The Future:

Viral videos push the boundaries of decency in an effort to stand out from the crowd, resulting in a series of hits and misses that need to be optimized once the community finds a video that it likes.

I swear this is the last in my Ray-Ban love-fest, but this final video is proof of the brilliance that's gone into the campaign. First of all, they create a great guerilla advertising tactic by taking these two douchebags into the streets, getting girls to dance with them and capturing eyes, while theirs are covered by (super cool) Ray-Bans. Then, they turn it into a damn viral video. Smart bastards.

God i love cats

...this one's in a suitcase. Around the 1:09 mark, you'll be wondering "is it dead?" Only around 1:12 will you find out.

P.S., dude, clean your damn room.

I love parodies

It's so postmodern of me...this is a great parody of those damn Long Island Boys' or whatever their name is song's about being on a boat...but with Bert and Ernie!

The new NEW internet sensation

This is the new keyboard cat! And by that i mean a formula for hilarity. Take awkward video, insert ending and laugh.

Who am i?

1. Who am I Now?
A great PSA on puberty and all the questions us kids can have when we're at that awkward stage. The beginning and end are the best, with some uncomfortable education in the middle.

2. Who am I?
A great martial arts movie starring Jackie Chan.

Drew Carey on Price is Right...

...has, in my humble opinion, been a horrible replacement for Bob Barker. Bob's big shoes have not been filled adequately. That being said, I do enjoy Drew in this Price is Right video below. He just seems to not take it seriously at all though - like he doesn't really care.

Here's a challenge...

...get through this whole video. It's just the guy talking, but from the absolutely amazing intro sentence to...well, i didn't get through it yet, but to the part that got me to close it, there's a lot of awesomeness.

Good luck.
Give it a bit of time though, it starts off slow.

The Maury "Fears" post

So Maury's a jerk, we all know that, but he sets up some pretty amazing situations. His favourites are the paternity test, which has gotten kind of old, and irrational fears. He's got this amazing set up where he brings the person who's afraid of ____ out on stage and then confronts them with the _____ that they're scared of. He ups the ante until they panic and go running into the back, at which point he yells "Don't get back there, there's more _____ back there!" It's at almost exactly that point that the person sees the huge piles of _____ in the back and freaks out. Here are some amazing examples.

The balloon ones is the epitome of his strategy. Once they start killing the balloons in the video, she can't take it and runs. Maury: Don't go back there, that's worse!" Brilliant.

Hahaha, the cotton one is pretty gold at the end.

The work that goes into these is hilarious. I can just imagine the producer saying "Okay, for this video segment, we're gonne need you to crush some peaches in your hand. Cool? Great, this'll really scare the shit out of him." It's like a peaches snuff film.

Scared of chickens...oh the irony.

Damn, these are cruel.

Incredible Trials biking

Man, i've always loved this kinda stuff and this is some of the best i've seen. I LOVE the idea of the city being used as a playground and people subverting traditional means of transportation, exploration and organization by riding the shit out of these things.

Awesome beat boxing kid

I wasn't going to post this, but as it goes on, the guys gets better and better. Amazing by the end.

A new internet sensation is sweeping the nation...keyboard cat! Thanks to balders for putting me onto this. All your favourite pain-based videos with a cute ending!

Hahaha, another awesome music video.

This isn't as cool as the funky Kingston Toots and the Maytals music video, but it's got a wicked feel to it and an awesome style.

And the music's great too.

Nice song by Little Joy

Just stumbled across this and it's a nice song. Some vampire weekend, a little paul simon (whose influence can also be seen in vampire weekend)...nice stuff.

Ah vince - Slap Chop remix

You gotta appreciate Vince Shlomi (great name), the guy from the sham wow and slap chop. I'm sure he never could have imagined how popular he's become as an internet sensation. Same's true with the Snuggie...no one could have seen those being as popular as they have become, both as a ridiculous commercial AND as a successful product.

Anyway, so someone made an amazing remix of the Slap Chop commercial and it's mind-blowing how well it worked out. Ch-ch-check it out:

Cheers!
