I love that video games are giving people the opportunity to be creative in yet another way. These Skate 2 videos are awesome, people put a lot of time into it and with the filmer packs that let you edit and create skate reels, there are tons of them out there. While some people put a lot of thought into just the skating part, this video has a real cinematic air to it that makes it a lot of fun to watch. editing, intro and some great tricks go into what is my favourite Skate 2 video so far.

Loose Fur
Found some good music today. Good stuff.
Get this. Loose Fur is a collaboration of Jeff Tweedy and Glen Kotche (both from Wilco) and Jim O'Rourke! Great trio. So here's some beauty stuff.

Jim O'Rourke
I really enjoy Drag City Records. They've got some awesome artists like Bill Callahan, Bonnie "Prince" Billy and Jim O'Rourke. These guys have a nice sort of grungy and kinda simple sound to them that I really enjoy. Bill Callahan especially, gives me the same feeling as a good western movie or a Cormac McCarthy book.
"Therefore I Am"
This one's nice.
"Insignificance"
A little bosa nova (maybe)
"Something Big"
The album art is just classic.
"Ghost Ship in a Storm"
Some more bosa nova. Good times.
"Please Patronize Are Sponsors"
There's a sort of Christmas-y feel to some of these. Coooulllddd be the season, but hey, there it is.
Not so in this one, but shit, it's great.
"Prelude to 110 or 220 / Women of the World"
"Memory Lame"
"Get a Room" (i think)
And a little something from his latest album: "The Visitor"

Wu Tang - "M.E.T.H.O.D. Man"
Great song. I "can sing" all the lyrics for this song, but i'm guess that half of them are wrong. But shit, it's something to witness, let me tell you.
Oh shit, that's the jam.
Oh shit, that's the jam.
Mega Man 10 looks mega hard
but honestly, who's surprised? These have to be some of the hardest games ever. But here's a little sneak peak of things to come. The music's always been so good.
Clash of the Titans feature trailer
This looks pretty damn epic. And, there's a little sneak peak of the kraken too, which looks rad. good times.
Iron Man 2 bitches!
Very exciting. Anyone who likes RDJr and hasn't seen "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" should totally do so.

Red Dead Redemption
Every once in a while i get cravings for very genre-specific movies. Lately it's been westerns. I just love the feel...the pathos...the slow and subtle style that permeates pretty much all western movies (save, maybe for 3:10 to Yuma). This is a new game from Rockstar games (GTA) and it looks just great. Seems to capture those exact elements...and it's an open world game. Exciting.

Van Dammmmmmme, he can dance!
No he can't. But it's great to watch.
Sitting at work, Bloodsport playing in the background, i couldn't help but think of another Van Damme classic, Kickboxer. The dancing scene is, arguably, one of the funniest things i've ever seen. So good.

Nudity alert! Girls' "Lust for Life"
But the HARDCORE version. The best part is that on pitchfork, yes, where i got this video, the description is "This is the one where the guy sings into another guy's penis."
And yes, that happens.
And yes, that happens.
Looks pretty rad - Ataque de Panico!
That's a fun movie to say. This is the five minute trailer for Ataque de Pánico! (Panic Attack!) by aspiring Uruguayan director Fede Alvarez. Apparently flashing the video around Hollywood netted the no-name a $30 million movie deal.

Modnation Racers looks RAD
With the potential to offer gameplay similar to Mario Kart and what looks like a really easy track creator, I'm really excited for this game. Look for its release in early 2010.
Queen AND Mario
a bit of an addiction on both accounts. This is impressive, if not a little annoying. But fitting given my current addiction to Queen.

Surprised Kitty!
This is the greatest/cutest video of a cat i've ever seen...makes me want a cat soooo bad. I still think that while scientists are playing around with genetic modifications, they should make some animals stay in their super-cute baby form for ever. Probably goes against all my morals and stuff, but hell, to have a kitty like this forever or a perpetual puppy...that'd be just great.

God i love michael cera. Just watched Year One last night and, gotta say, that's a horrible movie. The only shining light was Michael Cera...he's like christopher walken - he could read the news and i'd find it funny.

Clash of the Titans teaser trailer
This looks like it's going to be pretty damn epic. I remember when teaser trailers were a lot more of a tease and a lot less of a please. i love this new definition.

Perfect fall songs - Bonnie :Prince" Billy
If Bill Callahan every did anything with bonnie prince billy, i'd lose my shit. OH wait, they did - as "The Sundowners." i must say though, i was very disappointed.
I see a darkness
A cover of Johnny Cash's original, this is a beautiful song. One of those occasions in which what came after is better than what came first.
Death to everyone:
For the longest time, i thought the line was "...and it makes Jose much more fun."
A minor place:
Ironically, one of the more uplifting songs from the album.
Another day full of dread:
That's all i can find quickly. But if you get the chance, pick up "I see a darkness" by bPb. so good. Look for songs like "Today I was an evil one" or "Song for the new breed." the whole album is just fantastic.

Wow, the internet sure was amazing. these days, the internets just don't seem to cause the same wonder and excitement. Just like christmas, we've become so desensitized.

Perfect tunes for a rainy day.
Unfortunately it's sunny as shit out there, but hey, it can't always be sunny. If you haven't listened to Bill Callahan before, you should. Beautiful. It'll get you though - i listened to "Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle" over and over again and i got so down so slowly, i never saw it coming. The album feels like autumn - all about endings. But damn is it beautiful.

Holy shit Donnie Yen can fight...
Ip Man was a great movie, with some of the most intense fight scenes i've seen. Unlike the majority of martial arts movies, the main character just straight-up kicked ass. I think in the entire movie he took 2 hits. Awesome. raw-fuckin-awesome.

The Expendables!!!
Feature trailer and it looks...promising? I don't really know what to say. With a cast like this, it better be the biggest action movie i've ever seen. Best line from the trailer:
"Who sent you?"
"Your hairdresser."
So maybe it'll be funny too...
Update: Due to some copyright crap, the video's been removed. But i'll post it again when it's available.

Ong Bak 2: The Beginning
I have a particular issue with the naming of this sequel/prequel to the original Ong Bak movie. By calling it "The Beginning," I'm going to have to assume it's a prequel. I think that's a fair assumption; no asses are being made out of you or me. BUT, in the original movie he's a Muai Thai expert, fair enough. In this one...again, the PREquel, he's an expert at, like, 7 different fighting styles, including drunken boxing, wooshu (spelling?) and more. So what, did he forget all this shit in between the prequel and the original? anyway, this shit looks AMAZING!!!
To be honest, i don't think this has anything to do with the original Ong Bak, but i like to rant.

Book of Eli trailer
You know, Taken, starring Liam Neeson, has really re-invigorated my interest in action movies starring mid-life men featuring actors you wouldn't particularly imagine being especially agile. Now, Denzel Washington has done his share of action movies, but his martial arts-based fight scenes in this trailer definitely harken to the honed abilities shown by Mr. Neeson in Taken. The same is true for an upcoming John travolta movie...the name currently escapes me, but it looks okay and I believe it was directed (or produced) by the same guy who did Taken. Anyhow, check out this trailer...it looks pretty rad.
Video for "Lust for Life" and "Hellhole Ratrace" by Girls
Man, the Lust for Life video is a great. It totally represents the cathartic, crazeeeeee and beautiful feelings the song evokes. For two more tracks, check out two posts below.
P.s. if you get some rubbish Pearl Jam shit at first, it's just an ad, so don't turn it off too quick!

The new Islands album, "Vapours" is awesome!
I really enjoyed their first one "Return to the Sea," but this one's even better. Super danceable and this song, the title track, is the perfect example of said danceability. Enjoy!
Some tracks from the latest Girls album..."Album"
Shit, the lead singer's song is sad as shit. I'll just quote some stuff from somewhere else for laziness' sake.
Girls frontman Christopher Owens grew up in the Children of God cult. His older brother died as a baby because the cult didn't believe in medical attention. His dad left. He and his mother lived around the world, and the cult sometimes forced his mother to prostitute herself. As a teenager, Owens fled and lived as a Texas gutter-punk for a while. Then a local millionaire took Owens under his wing, and Owens moved to San Francisco. There, he and Chet "JR" White formed Girls, and recorded Album, their debut album, under the influence of just about every kind of pill they could find.

Nice video by the Antlers
The Antlers, from Brooklyn, are, I'd have to say, my new favourite band. "Hospice" is a heartbreaking album that's beautiful, poignant and just so easy to listen to (over and over again). This song is "Two," from the aforementioned album.
For fear of seeming obsessive, here's a nice "unplugged" version...kinda nice actually, the guy's voice is rad.

This shit's great...just so gruesome. You have to wonder if this is how it'd really go if something sharp cut through you fully.
The most epic trailer EVER - Legion
This is redband, so you've gotta prove you're old enough...just change 2009 to 1981 or whatever...anyway, this looks like it could be freakin amazing or pathetically cheesy. I'm guessing it might be the latter, but still, this trailer is worth the watch...

Quick bit of lolz time.
Lolsquirrel video...I've never had a lolsquirrel before.
[Sidenote: once, when i was younger, i caught a baby squirrel because it wasn't moving very fast and i picked it up and played with it for a while. It was cute but kinda sickly looking. I was with my parents and they were totally into it. After we let it go and walked away, my head was really itchy and my mom, curious, looked into my hair and saw all these little fleas in there. For the next hour or so, she picked at my scalp like an ape.]
And then nerdy lolcat that made me laugh and feel nerdy at the same time.

Now it's time for a little racism...christopher walken styles
...aptly titled "Asians doing Christopher Walken." I don't know if it's really racist, but it's enjoyable.
Every time i hear about christopher walken, it reminds me of a really bad joke...the joke starts off with "What's the opposite of Christopher Reeves?" and i'll let you figure out the punch-line...

i'm posting this one because of one video and one video alone. About halfway through there's some cheesy rural or small town-based morning show hosted by a couple of rosey-cheeked, naive and overly-optimistic people who, in hearing their guest say that he's been with his partner for a while and has a message, get so excited by the assumed marriage proposal, you're almost relieved by what he ends up saying...good times.

This would be my perfect day...
...i try to do one of these things at least once a day. I fail, but that's not the important part.
David Carroll hates United Airlines
This guy, David Carroll, flew United Airlines last year and they broke his $3,500 guitar. After asking to be reimbursed for the loss and being told he wouldn't see a cent, he vowed to seek revenge...by writing 3 songs. This is the first and it's proven to me that i kinda like country music.
don't tell anyone.
don't tell anyone.
Funny People looks...well, funny
Great cast and it seems like a lot of these guys are sort of discovering themselves and becoming more comfortable with being sort of toned-down. I like it. I think that's why these guys (the apatow crowd) are doing better than will ferrell and friends these days.
I posted the first trailer for this a while ago, but this second one looks even better.

This movie is looking better and better. And those "Humans only" posters in the movie have made for a terrific semi-guerilla advertising campaign. Really looking forward to this one.

The next Event Horizon?
Maybe...although it looks a little, well, dumber. This is a trailer for Pandorum and i love this sci-fi shit. And, it's got creatures that were once humans, so you know i'm in for it!

Michael Jackson video...
...of his ghost...ooooOOOOOOoooooOOOOOOoooooo. I expected i'd be more motivated to put up videos of Michael Jackson and jump on the RIP bandwagon, but amazingly, this is the first and likely last one I'll post. This is supposedly the ghost of michael jackson "moonwalking" at the end of a hallway during an interview with some CNN dude on Larry King. It's actually pretty real looking, but I'm sure it'll be disproved in a day or two.
*UPDATE*
It's a shadow...seems a bit toooooo convenient, if you ask me. Here's the video of the explanation:

lolcat...again...
I find the internet's really been failing me these days. Either that or i'm getting pickier. I just find it's been really hard to find some awesome shit these days. And lolcats are just one of those things that do it to me every time. This one is cute as shit...especially when it jumps up on the chair and meows.
On a side note, you know what i hate? I hate that when you watch a super hilarious movie (like role models) and then try to find a compilation on youtube of all the funny lines, the shit people put together sucks balls. Makes me want to do it myself. I should.
Anyway, lolcat:

Love Japanese game shows...
...they're so creative. Some are a little creepy, but this one's wicked. Watch this and then check out "Wipeout," a North American obstacle course-based show...we're so fat and lazy...
This is how i drive...
I do love my music, just like this guy. I actually had a cab driver who kinda danced like that...but while sitting. He just clapped mostly and offered me cigarettes. It was just a bit much for 7 in the morning. Turned out to be a great start to the day though.
Spanish-speaking soap operas are just amazing...
...and apparently there's a new one on Univision (never heard of it) that features a surprisingly large amount of "cat fights." Watching this, i realized that my life lacks a great deal of intense anger. I don't think i've ever looked at someone with the same fire in my eyes as these women have during the entire "conversation"...the cat fight seems pretty "realistic" until one woman pulls the old sonya blade handstand move...dramatic.
